My AVT I did it in Kristenbergskola in Borås. I could see the different methods in class. I was two days in 5th and three days in 1st. Children of 1st level don´t speak English, so I just watched and I sometimes try talking the children and helped them. In 5th there were 19 pupils and 1st there were 18.
I want to focus about a different that I saw in basic level between Swedish school and Spanish school. In Swedish classroom, there were subjects like Mathematics and Swedish that the pupils were divided to two groups, the yellow group and green group, where in each there were 9 pupils. For basic level I think that in very important to do an individual work with the children, and it is possible with small group. In Spain this is different because normally there are big groups. In classroom there are 28 or 30 children. Spanish teachers have a difficult task which is to see the pupils develop.

When there is a big group, the pupils are more distracted, when the group is reduced, the pupils have fewer classmates for can speak and distracted. It is true that children need to be related with their classmates, but in important subjects like Mathematics and Swedish, they need to pay attention to the lesson.
